survivesitall: (close and talking)
Elena wasn't sure why she was out the school that afternoon, there was no real reason for her to be there. Jeremy and Paige were too young to consider daycare, never mind high school. But here she was, waiting outside the doors and watching the students leave. Her eyes scan over them until she fixes on one that she knows, and would like to know better.

She puts her hand up and calls out her name, "Cassie!"

All of that and she doesn't know if the girl will talk to her, doesn't know if she'll even act like she recognises her. But Elena has to try and make the effort.

"Over here."

Seven weeks have passed since the twins were born, and Elena isn't sure when she's going to stop expecting something to be wrong, something different. But they seem normal enough as far as she can tell; they cry, eat, poo, all the things babies of that age do. They even sleep sporadically, though never more than three or four hours at a time. She doesn't find that she minds and neither does Clayton. They take sleeping in shifts and are both entirely enamoured by Little Paige and Jeremy that even if they slept less they'd be fine.

More, there's no sign of the twins being different. They aren't aging faster than normal, or more slowly. Not that there are a lot of milestones and just under two months, but the twins seem to be hitting each of them. That's the thing that Elena worries about most. She worries that being the children of two wolves there will be something strange about them, something that they can't manage.

Today they're both fussing and unwilling to be put down. Happy and giggling when held, and crying as soon as they're laid on the mat. "Do you think it'll be like this for the next six months?"
